We started to feel the negative effects of climate change all over the world. In our company, which aims to be a pioneer in all matters concerning the society and the environment, we put climate change and the measures to be taken at the top of our agenda, considering that it is extremely important to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that cause this change and to leave the legacy they deserve to future generations.
Reducing the use of natural resources with recyclable alternative resources, replacing the use of fossil fuels with waste-derived fuels, reducing the energy consumed during production, introducing innovative products to the market with more efficient and alternative process methods are the main targets of our roadmap prepared to reduce carbon emissions in the coming years.
Cementir Group has set ambitious climate targets to reduce CO2 emissions, defining a 10-year Roadmap and investments in sustainability projects of around 100 million euros in the 2024-2026 Industrial Plan. In February 2024 the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated both near and long term decarbonization targets of Cementir, judged consistent with the 1.5°C scenario. In addition, SBTi also approved Cementir’s overall net-zero emissions target by 2050. Cementir is rated A- by CDP for Climate change and water security and holds sustainability ratings with all major agencies worldwide.
